The Directors set the strategic direction for the MAT and are accountable to the Secretary of State for the performance of the schools within it. This is set out in a legal document known as the "funding agreement". As charity trustees, they must also ensure that they are complying with charity law requirements. High calibre directors are appointed for the skills, knowledge or experience as needed by the Board.
The Trust Board of Directors has there core functions
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Holding the Executive Headteacher (EHT) to account for the educational performance of the Trust schools and their pupils, and the performance management of staff
- Overseeing the financial performance of the schools and making sure its money is well spent.

Mrs Jackie Bachrach Chair of Board of Directors
Jackie has been in education for 35 years and has taught across the primary curriculum in all year groups in a range of schools. She is currently managing the Yeovil Federation of Schools. The Federation provides a network for schools in Yeovil and surrounding villages and covers schools from 4-16 years and Yeovil College. She is also involved in providing training mentoring for the School Direct programme for ITT. She is also an SLE with a specialism in maths. She has been governor for 21 years and Chair of Governors for the last 7, completing the National College Chairs Leadership Programme.

Mr Phil Noone Chair of Primrose Lane Primary School Local Governing Body
Aircraft Engineering controller for Morson Technical Services. Employed to provide Wildcat Contract maintenance for Army Aviation. Retired Chief Petty Officer Aircraft Engineering Technician (Royal Navy); holding City & Guilds diplomas in Leadership and Management and basic Aircraft engineering, with a foundation degree in the same subject. Over a 28 year Naval career Phil has acted in a human resources role, shift manager, mentor to trainee personnel, lead engineer and as a support engineer providing Aircraft specific equipment. This entails risk assessing and compliance with H and S policy both at work and whilst away from naval bases.

Mr Rick Beaver BSc Psychology, MSc, PGCE, MBA Chair of Finance, SEN & Safeguarding Governor
Until his retirement in 2016, Rick was the principal educational psychologist for Somerset County Council, managing the Somerset Educational Psychology Service and specialist advisory teaching services. As part of this role, Rick had wide experience of strategic management at every level, and leading and managing teams of people through change. As Rick is also a qualified teacher he has a sound understanding of good teaching and how children learn best. Rick fulfils his role as Safeguarding Governor with expertise and enthusiasm, and provides regular Child Protection training to both trustees and directors. He has a deep understanding of data analysis and is confident in holding the school leadership team to account. |

Mr Rob Bailey Health & Safety Governor
Rob started his own company in 2001 and has gradually built up a thriving Electrical Contracting firm with between 5 and 10 employees. As a Company Director he has a good knowledge of business management that will assist the Academy in going forward. He employs skilled and trainee operatives and therefore provides in-house training and guidance. As a director of his own company, he has a sound knowledge of employment law and Health and Safety legislation.
He was involved with the school prior to being on the governing body, and he is proud to be associated with an Academy that has an Outstanding Ofsted Report and that supports other local schools.

Dr Brian Geary
Before retiring in 2016 Brian held the position of Chief Materials Engineer for Agusta Westland. In this role he held technical and administrative responsibility for materials laboratories in Italy and UK. As a PhD qualified engineer he brought a high degree of technical expertise but the management responsibility also required knowledge of departmental budgets, employment law and health and safety law across European geographies. He has a long standing connection to the school as his children were pupils and now two of his grandchildren attend. He therefore has a strong personal interest in bringing his past experience to helping to maintain the high standards set by the school.

Ms Ceri Stephens
Ceri is an experienced and skilful property litigation solicitor. She is a director and heads the Dispute Resolution team at Battens Solicitors. Ceri handles all aspects of planning and property litigation and covers rights of way and boundary disputes, restrictive covenants, nuisance, trespass, advert possession and rights to light. She also deals with commercial leases and residential tenancies, dilapidations and property defects, lease renewals, gaining possession and service charge disputes.

Mrs Evie Potts-Jones
Evie Potts-Jones has previously worked as a mediator and restorative justice facilitator, she uses her conflict management skills to actively create positive solutions. Evie is currently working as a Finance and Tax assistant for a local Chartered accountant. She is a town Councillor and is the current chair of promotions and activities for the Town Council. Part of Evie’s role as a local Councillor sees her engaging with various youth services and working to promote a strong youth Council. Evie fosters a supportive approach with personal development and the well-being of all children she has connections with.

Mr Shaun Kitto
Shaun has worked for local company Leonardo in the manufacturing of transmission parts for Helicopters over the last 36 years. Shaun has three children which has led him to being involved within the local community through Yeovil Swimming Club (committee member), Westland Sports Football Club (Coaching) and finally Yeovil and Sherborne Hockey Club. Shaun has been a governor, Vice Chair for twenty years, and Chair of the governing body for the last 8 years, he has a passion for education and truly believes that every child should have the opportunity to reach their full
